  • This 2007 football team was one of the best High School football teams I have ever seen. I played football 2005 for the wildcats.2007 team went 12-1 that's a great season in my eyes and should be a to every else. Coach Mark is the best football coach at any level in football in the nation. He is also the best football coach i have ever played with and played against. Coach mark will make you a better player cause he is a great coach. Even away from football he will make you a better person in life. all the goals they reached this past year every one on the football team and coaches should be proud of what they accomplished.   • I am proud of each of the players for their drive and determination throughout the year. It is no small feat to practice daily and put in the amount of time you young men did over the summer. I'm not sure anyone other than the parents, players and coaches know how much time is involved. You are all champions and have so much to be proud of. You did an outstanding job at M&T and not many teams had the opportunity to play there. I only wish that ALL the seniors had a chance to step onto the field for at least one play, as some of them will never put on football equipment again.  Anonymous,  posted 11 December 2007

  • To the Wildcat Football Team. You are a special group of young men. I know the sting of defeat is a bitter pill to swallow, and for you Seniors even more so. Winning the State would have been the icing on the cake for a magical season. The good news is this. What you learned over the course of these past four years, and especially this year, goes way beyond the gridiron. You learned discipline, teamwork, determination, and a host of other valuable life lessons that will always be a part of you. As you go to college and pursue careers, you will know how to set goals and achieve them. Most important, you will never utter the words, "I Can't" because this year you have proven to yourselves that if you believe in something, you can achieve it. Men, I know it is hard to realize it now, but in time you will remember these times as some of the best of your lives. Yes, it is hard to accept defeat, but here is a great quote from Teddy Roosevelt which is as applicable today as it was way back when he wrote it. He said, ""It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or where the door of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by the dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions and spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best, knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who, at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly; so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat."   • Wildcats you guys are awesome; each and everyone of you all have nothing to be ashamed of!!! Two teams met at the State Championships with perfect records of 13-0; one team had to go home with a record of 13-1.... So with that said each Wildcat Football Player should be holding their heads up high with Wildcat Pride that you are champions!!!!! (No matter the outcome of the game on Friday night.) The shock and sting will remain in your hearts but please remember that you all are winners in the eyes of your parents, family members, friends, fellow classmates and fans. You represented Anne Arundel County and we are proud of all your accomplishments in the regular season as well as the championship games you played.   • I have always been proud to be a Wildcat parent, the excitement of last nite I will never forget. You as a team & the coaches gave that wonderful feeling & expierence to us all. And that Pride can never be taken away. You played with such class . I hope you all looked around & took a picture in your mind that you will hold dear forever, it was a great turnout last nite of support from all over the county. To see other schools from our county come out to support was amazing, and all the alumni wearing their old jersey, I think you allowed them back on the field one more time. Seniors take with you the pride the coaches have instilled & remember this is not the end its just part of the journey.   • This year's team, from what I've seen, were like brothers. You all worked as one unit and never stopped punishing the competition. I pray that you all bring the championship to AA-county and show the this the nation that not just Maryland football, but AA-county football can compete with anyone on any level.   • I played for Coach Markiewicz at North County in the 94 State Finals and I will say this. He is a mastermind and he will have you prepared for any and everything. You guys are lucky to have him leading you onto the field and you are fortunate to be able to learn about life's trials and tribulations from him as well. Football is a game but years from now when the helmet is packed away and replaced with a suit and tie, you will remember conversations with Coach, you will cherish your time playing for him--good and bad, ad most of all you will be a better person because of him.   • I invested hundreds of hours developing the best summer workouts in the country for High School Football players. The purpose was to develop young men from the ages of 14-17 to become athletic enough to play the best football at the highest level in high school. Why Arundel? Because you have the best football coach in the nation. Coach Chuck Markiewicz, along with Coach Bernie Walter are two of the most intelligent coaches I have ever met in my life. I believe in Coaches CM and BW. They believe in each and every athlete they coach.   • Wildcats, on Friday night all you have to do is play your game, take care of business for 48 minutes, not a minute or second less. Play your game the way you have done it all season, "Just do what you do", you believed all season that it didn't matter who the other team was. IT DOESN'T MATTER NOW, Believe this and place it in your heart, It doesn't matter who you are playing, it doesn't matter what their record is or how many so called div 1 prospects they have. All season none of that was important and on Friday night it will not be important either. Because this championship game is not about who your opponent is, it is about you guys and the way you have grown and bonded during this season and become one unit. This game is about how close you all have become as a team and how you care and feel about your teammates. This is another opportunity to show your teammates that you are willing to play your hearts out for each other and lay it on the line for 48 minutes. Leaving it all on the field, REFUSING TO LOSE, REFUSING TO LOSE, REFUSE TO LOSE. So on Friday continue to play smart, fast, physical Arundel football with class, dignity, determination, pride, commitment, honor and courage. If you do this, no matter what the outcome you will be able to walk off that field with your heads held high and your hearts filled with satisfaction that you gave it everything you had. Remember no matter what happens, win or lose, no matter what is written, or said by any paper or news report, or anyone else, no one, i mean no one can ever take away what you guys have accomplished as a unit this year. Olympic to high school, to UMBC and three high schools in Anne Arundel County, remember, you have been training the last four summers with the best high school athletic training program in the US region, by the best football coaches in the state.
