OUR MISSION
At any level of competition, athletes must possess the right physical tools in order to compete at the next level. Athletes who have the desire and dedication to excel will greatly benefit from a systematic performance training program. At ARUNDEL HIGH SCHOOL, our program not only challenges athletes physically, but also builds a foundation for success at each level of development. This well-rounded program for high school athletes implements a safe, competitive, fun, and educational training prescription to allow the serious athlete to improve his/her overall athletic performance. For long-term athletic development, this program's strategy incorporates the following components: · Strength · Speed · Flexibility · Conditioning · Nutrition · Regeneration Our environment promotes camaraderie and spirited competition, but more importantly focuses on the athletes' overall physical development and performance improvement. Our athletes will train in an atmosphere that fosters and develops responsibility, cooperation and respect for themselves and others.
Program Highlights
The following educational components are seamlessly integrated into the training:
· Regeneration - methods to improve recovery from training · Conditioning - proper conditioning to improve work capacity · Dynamic Flexibility - restore/maintain healthy function of soft tissue and joints · Speed - skills to maximize movement efficiency through 360° · Strength - training throughout the spectrum of strength qualities for sport
· Summer training begins on Wednesday, June 23rd
· Workouts are every MON /WED /THU. Training sessions are 90 minutes to 2 hours long depending on the day. Workouts begin PROMPTLY at 9:00 AM. And will end by 11:00. If you show up late without informing a coach beforehand, you will not be permitted to workout that day. BE ON TIME!
· Athletes will train in a group setting
· Programs progress from simple to more advanced.
· Our goal is to decrease the potential for injury for our athletes. Pre-hab components incorporated into the training are to improve the following: · Hip and ankle stability · Shoulder Stability · Posture · Core strength and stability · Balance and Proprioception
